Frisco, Colorado – The 2025-26 season began with much promise for Lauren Macuga, who had great momentum from the 2024-25 FIS World Cup campaign. Unfortunately, she’ll have to wait another winter to add to her accolades.

During a training session on Friday at Copper Mountain, Lauren Macuga crashed. The crash onto the hard snowpack resulted in an injury to her ACL. According to Nancy Armour of USA Today, she tore her ACL. As a result, she’ll will miss the rest of the ski season.

Lauren had several great results from the 2025-26 FIS World Cup campaign, including winning the Super-G at St. Anton and finishing second in the Downhill at Kvitfjell.

Here’s what her dad, Dan Macuga, had to say about the injury.

With her positive attitude, we imagine Macuga will be back better than ever for the 2026-27 season.
