REVELSTOKE, British Columbia – German ski instructor Marius Quast spent some time in North America exploring the most iconic ski areas and ski runs we’ve got. While on the continent, he hit up Revelstoke in British Columbia and skied what he claims is the longest ski run in North America, The Last Spike.

The Last Spike, Longest Run

There doesn’t appear to be anything official marking The Last Spike as the longest run in North America, but multiple places have made the claim. It seems equally hard to actually nail down how long the trail is, as Quast has it marked as 11km, while other sources have it at 12km and others say 15km. Revelstoke doesn’t appear to have an official measurement either, but we’d love to see one. Other ski runs have made the claim of being the longest continuous ski run in North America.

If there’s one thing for certain, it’s that The Last Spike is very long. Looking at the resort’s trail map makes it clear that it runs from the highest lift access point on the mountain to the lowest point, and if it was just 11km, that would be equivalent to just under 7 miles. And it takes him 9 minutes and 56 seconds to ski at a very solid pace.
