A 33-year-old woman was rescued after falling into a gully near the Eaglecrest Ski Area in Alaska.
According to the Alaskan Department of Public Safety, Alaska State Troopers received a report of the stranded hiker in Juneau, sending Juneau Mountain Rescue to assist. The woman had fallen into a gully and was unable to self-rescue.
Upon the report, a Juneau Mountain Rescue rope team was sent to the woman’s location. They managed to hoist the woman from the gulley and return her to the ski area parking lot without further incident. No injuries were reported.
While Eaglecrest is closed for the season, recreators are still allowed on the mountain at their own risk. The Eaglecrest ski season is slated to begin on Saturday, December 6th.
