A small plane crashed in Olympic National Park on Tuesday leaving one person dead and two others injured.

Park rangers were notified of the Murphy SR3500 Moose crash in the Quinault area at around 6:50pm on July 15th. The site of the crash is on a forested, steep slope in a remote area north of the Irely Lake Trailhead.

All three victims were taken to a level-1 trauma center. A spokesperson for Harborview Medical Center in Seattle said the two people on the plane who survived the crash were both in satisfactory condition on Wednesday.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
