25-year-old skier Ross Tester, or “Boss Ross”, returned to the Freeride World Tour with a bang after taking a year off during the 2024 season. His first run of the 2025 competition season gave the American skier a first place finish at the Baqueira Beret Pro by Movistar and the overall lead for the 2025 FIS Freeride World Tour.

In typical Ross Tester fashion, the run was pretty unbelievable, featuring a massive backflip right out of the starting gate, an enormous 360, and some extremely precise, high speed skiing. It would certainly be hard to argue that he didn’t deserve the win.

Ross earned a 92.67 score, beating out another American by just over a point. Toby Rafford of Sun Valley Idaho earned a 91.33, and Treble Cone skier Ben Richards took third with a 89.00.

The next Freeride World Tour event will take place between January 27 and February 1st at the 2025 Val Thorens Pro.
