Fernie Alpine Resort put a hockey goalie on the ski slopes, in all their hockey goalie gear (minus the skates, of course) to celebrate and advertise their upcoming Hockey Day(s) in Fernie event at the Bears Den on Saturday, January 11.
The Hockey Day(s) includes a skills competition open to all ages and skill levels with the opportunity to win a series of top tier prizes including Calgary Flames tickets and Fernie Ghostriders tickets. Competitions include a goalie accuracy shootout, a hardest shot challenge, and a puck handling drill.
Then that evening, the local junior hockey team (the Fernie Ghostriders) will take on the Creston Valley Thundercats. On Sunday, January 12, a meet and greet with the members from the Fernie Ghostriderrs will be available.
