Free entrance to all National Parks on Veteran's Day

To honor of Veterans Day, The National Parks Service is waiving entrance fees to all 431 parks across the United States. Also it should be pointed out that all current military and their dependents, veterans and Gold Star Families can get into all national parks and over 2,000 federal recreation areas for free with the Military Pass any day of the year.

“Many National Parks have direct connections to the American militaryโ€”there are dozens of battlefields, military parks, and historic sites that commemorate and honor the service of American veterans. Whether youโ€™re a history buff wandering through storied battlegrounds, an outdoor enthusiast hiking rugged trails, or someone just looking to soak in a serene landscape, thereโ€™s a park for you.”

National Parks Director Charles F. โ€œChuckโ€ Sams IIIย is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as an intelligence specialist and had this to say about the day:

โ€œWeโ€™re excited for members of the public to discover national parks on Veteranโ€™s Day, and especially invite current military and their dependents, veterans, and Gold Star Families to get aย Military Passย to get free entrance to parks any day. As a veteran, it is fantastic to see other veterans and their loved ones explore parks, learn about our nationโ€™s history, and find peace in the outdoors.

We along with the National Park Service want to thank all of Americaโ€™s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.
