Lincoln, New Hampshire- On April 28th, a severe fire impacted the lives of multiple residents of a popular New Hampshire ski town.
Firefighters from Lincoln, Sugar Hill, Woodstock, Littleton, and Campton-Thornton responded to the scene, extinguishing the fire after twelve hours of hard work. The building was home to multiple apartments, along with the Udderly Delicious ice cream shop. According to the Union Leader, over a dozen people were displaced. WMUR gave a video report from the scene, and what remained of the building was a depressing sight.
Following the fire, Loon Mountain Resort, also located in Lincoln, began a fundraising effort to help those who needed assistance. Loon Mountain began a fundraiser through its Community Fund, committing 10k of its own money to the families. The Loon Mountain Area Community Fund was created to help locals in need.
Yesterday, Loon gave an update on the fundraising process. So far, $47,500 has been raised, which has gone towards families affected by the fire. For donations from May 14–17th, the Loon Mountain Area Community Fund will match these contributions up to $10k.
