EDMONTON, Alberta — Scary moment caught on camera Saturday morning as a child was left dangling after slipping off the triple chair at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort, south of Edmonton. Thankfully ski patrol arrived quickly to the scene and deployed a fireman blanket catch style technique to break the child’s fall:
“From the time the guest loaded the chair to the time our staff had her on the ground was 3.5 minutes.” –Derek Look, Rabbit Hill Snow Resort GM
The resort’s first aid team assessed the girl and determined she had no injuries. Incredibly she and her family continued skiing for the remainder of the day. Rabbit Hill plans to conduct an investigation into what happened.
Excellent work by resort staff and great reminder to always ride chairlifts with the bar down if its an option, especially if you are with kids.
