Watch As Colorado Parks And Wildlife Attempts To Capture A Big Horn Sheep Herd

Colorado Parks & Wildlife SE Region is attempting to capture a herd of bighorn sheep to recreate a herd in Beaver Creek Canyon, as of February 4th. To do this, the organization used apple mash to lead the herd underneath a net, which will eventually be dropped on them, followed by their relocation. Their goal is to capture around 25 sheep from Colorado Springs, including the oldest to the youngest.

According to Out There Colorado, work and studies on this project began in February 2021, and is using the Rampart herd, which has been used to repopulate Colorado’s sheep population since 1944.
