The east coast has snow in the forecast this weekend and skiing at Killington and Sunday River should be good this weekend. New York will see a great base builder snowstorm, that is if temps stay cold from here on out.

Winter Weather Advisory [Vermont]
…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM EST SATURDAY…
* WHAT…Wet snow and mixed wintry precipitation expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected. Most of the accumulating snow will occur above 1000 feet elevation. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
* WHERE…Portions of central, north-central, and northeastern Vermont.
* WHEN…Wet snow will overspread central and eastern Vermont during the mid to late afternoon hours, with a rain-snow mix expected in the valleys. Wet snow will become moderate at times at elevations above 1000 feet this evening. Precipitation will taper off as a wintry mix after midnight tonight, and may include periods of light drizzle or localized freezing drizzle. Localized gusty southeasterly winds of 20 to 30 mph will also develop this afternoon and accompany the snowfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Travel at elevations above 1000 feet is expected to become difficult this evening, with snow covered roads and periods of visibility down to one-half mile.

A storm system developing over the Great Lakes today will spread precipitation over the area this evening. A secondary area of low pressure will develop near the coast and help keep colder air locked across the northern parts of New Hampshire and western Maine. Precipitation should begin as snowfall, and may come down heavy at times late this evening. By early tomorrow morning that snow may begin to mix with sleet or change over to rain in some areas bringing and end to significant accumulation.
