Deer Valley Resort is giving families a great reason to kick off their ski season in Park City, Utah. From Saturday, December 5, through Friday, December 11, 2026, children ages 12 and younger can ski for free at one of the country’s premier ski destinations.
The best part is that the standalone Kids Ski Free Week promotion does not require the purchase of an adult lift ticket. Whether it’s a child’s first time on skis or they’re already comfortable cruising down the mountain, Deer Valley is making it easier for families to get out and enjoy the early season.
The offer is part of Alterra Mountain Company’s Kids Ski Free Week, an initiative designed to introduce more children to skiing and help families spend time together on the slopes.
Free Lift Tickets and Half-Price Kids’ Rentals
In addition to complimentary skiing, Deer Valley is offering 50% off Tot and Junior ski rentals throughout the promotional week. The rental discount is available when booking by phone, giving families another opportunity to save on the cost of getting young skiers outfitted for the mountain.
Children will still need a valid complimentary lift ticket to access the chairlifts. According to Deer Valley’s official promotion, tickets can be obtained online or in person.
“Kids Ski Free Week encourages families to hit the slopes together and foster a lifelong love of skiing,” said Rob Sogard, Deer Valley’s vice president of skier services.
The promotion coincides with Deer Valley’s scheduled opening day on December 5, weather and conditions permitting. It also comes as the resort continues its enormous expansion, with another 200 acres of skiable terrain and seven new runs planned for the 2026-27 season.
Families planning an extended visit can also explore Deer Valley’s separate Ski, Stay & Save Package, which offers up to 30% off select lodging and lift tickets, along with a $100 resort credit. That package has additional eligibility requirements.
Deer Valley has long been known for its exceptional grooming, ski school and mountain hospitality. For families hoping to introduce their children to skiing or simply enjoy a few early-season turns together, a full week of free children’s lift tickets is a pretty sweet opportunity.
The promotion runs December 5-11, 2026, and is available to children ages 12 and younger. Learn more HERE.
