Most skiers spend the offseason waiting for snow to return. A group of Swiss skiers known as BPC (Buldoz Project Crew) has found a considerably more entertaining alternative: skiing pretty much anything they can find, regardless of whether there’s a single snowflake in sight.

The crew just released BPC4, the latest installment in its snowless skiing video series. The seven-minute, 37-second film continues the group’s unconventional approach to skiing, which involves turning dry hillsides, city streets and other decidedly non-skiable surfaces into terrain for freestyle tricks and stunts.

The new video, released October 11, features members of the Swiss Buldoz collective, including Yohan “Sleepy” Lovey, Blasco, Gilles, Benjamin, Jeppe and Albi. The project follows three previous BPC installments that helped the crew establish a following for its creative, often ridiculous approach to skiing.

The Snowless Skiers Who Caught Dave Grohl’s Attention

If the crew looks familiar, it might be because they made headlines earlier this year when the Foo Fighters recruited them to star in the official music video for the band’s song “Of All People.”

Director Alex Acy discovered BPC’s videos on YouTube and approached the group about collaborating. The resulting music video featured skiers launching themselves down concrete staircases, sliding across unconventional surfaces and performing stunts in places where skiing would normally seem impossible.

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was impressed by the crew’s approach to the sport.

The Swiss collective has built its identity around unconventional skiing, homemade features, urban terrain and a willingness to experiment with surfaces that most skiers would never consider. Although the group also produces more traditional freeskiing films, its BPC series is dedicated to pushing the idea of skiing beyond snow-covered mountains.

Their latest release is another reminder that skis can apparently be used on just about anything, provided you’re willing to sacrifice some equipment and accept a considerably less forgiving landing.
