The Freeride World Tour has announced its roster for the 2027 season, bringing together established champions, emerging talent, and returning contenders for another year of competition on some of the world’s most challenging mountain terrain.
The Freeride World Tour by Peak Performance will feature 53 riders, including 29 athletes who qualified through last season and 11 rookies. Four titles will be awarded across the ski and snowboard categories as competitors battle for the 2027 championship.
Freeride World Tour Welcomes Back Former Champions
The 2027 roster includes several familiar names, including 2022 champions Maxime Chabloz of Switzerland and Tiphanie Perrotin of France, along with 2023 champion Katie Anderson of Canada.
Victor de Le Rue of France will also return as he pursues a sixth Freeride World Tour title. The snowboarder has won five championships, including three consecutive titles from 2024 through 2026.
Five athletes have received season wildcards. Max Palm of Sweden, Astrid Cheylus of France, Zuzanna Witych of Poland, Martin Bender of Switzerland and Cody Bramwell of Great Britain will join the field.
The returning champions will face increasing competition from younger riders who demonstrated their potential during the 2026 season. Several newcomers earned their places through the Freeride World Tour Challenger Series, setting up another season of competition between established stars and rising talent.
Ski Categories Feature Defending Champions and New Challengers
In the men’s ski category, Ben Richards of New Zealand enters the season as the reigning Freeride World Tour champion and 2026 FIS Freeride World Champion. He will face competition from Marcus Goguen of Canada, the 2025 tour champion, and Max Hitzig of Germany, who won the title in 2024.
American skiers Toby Rafford and Ross Tester, who finished second and third overall in 2026, will also return.
The women’s ski field will be led by defending champion Lou Barin of France. She will face 2023 and 2025 champion Justine Dufour-Lapointe of Canada, along with runner-up Sybille Blanjean of Switzerland. Rookies Hannah Baldwin of the United States and Mia McNab of France will make their debuts after winning their respective Challenger Series categories.
Snowboard Fields Include New Rivalries
De Le Rue headlines the men’s snowboard field, where 2026 FIS Freeride World Champion Liam Rivera of Switzerland and Rookie of the Year Sacha Balicco of France will also compete.
In the women’s snowboard category, defending champion Mia Jones of the United States will face Noémie Equy of France and returning champions Perrotin and Anderson.
The upcoming season will also end a three-year streak of rookie champions in the women’s snowboard category, as no rookies have qualified for the 2027 field.
