Construction is officially underway on a new ski-in, ski-out Club Med Resort at Tremblant, nearly three years before the property is scheduled to welcome its first guests.
Club Med held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Versant Soleil, marking the start of construction on Club Med Tremblant. The four-season resort is scheduled to open in December 2028 and will become Club Med’s second mountain property in Canada following the 2021 opening of Club Med Québec Charlevoix.
The groundbreaking moves forward a project that was still being discussed publicly in mid-2025 before being officially confirmed late last year. Earlier plans called for roughly 300 high-end rooms on the Versant Soleil side of Tremblant. Club Med’s latest announcement did not provide an updated room count, but it laid out more details about how the resort will operate when it opens.
Skiing Will Be Built Into The All-Inclusive Model
The new resort will sit at the foot of the slopes on Versant Soleil with direct ski-in, ski-out access. In winter, Club Med says lift tickets and ski and snowboard lessons will be included as part of its all-inclusive packages, following the model it uses at mountain resorts elsewhere around the world.
The property is also being developed as a four-season destination, with summer outdoor activities, wellness offerings, kids programs, sports academies and an adult-focused area planned alongside the winter operation. Club Med also plans an Exclusive Collection section with upgraded amenities, private spaces and panoramic mountain views.
Club Med estimates the completed property will create approximately 300 direct jobs in addition to construction employment and other economic activity around Mont-Tremblant. More than 61% of the property is planned as green space, while the project is targeting LEED Gold certification for construction and Green Globe certification for its eventual operation.
Versant Soleil Is Also Getting A Major Ski Expansion
The Club Med construction is part of a much larger period of investment on Tremblant’s Versant Soleil.
Tremblant is currently developing Timber Summit, a $42.5 million CAD mountain expansion that will add 62 acres of skiable terrain, eight trails and a new high-speed quad for the 2027-28 winter season. The terrain will be overwhelmingly geared toward recreational skiers, with 35% beginner terrain, 60% intermediate terrain and 5% expert terrain.
The new Timber Express will have 125 chairs and carry up to 2,400 skiers per hour, increasing Tremblant’s overall uphill capacity. Seven of the eight new trails will descend toward Versant Soleil, placing much of the expansion directly above the area being developed around Club Med.
Work on that part of the mountain has already begun. A new 1.1-acre beginner area with snowmaking and a covered conveyor lift is scheduled to open at Versant Soleil during the 2026-27 season, followed by the full Timber Summit terrain pod one winter later. The 62-acre Timber Summit expansion is the resort’s biggest new terrain project in years and is being developed in part to support continued growth on the Soleil side of the mountain.
By the time Club Med opens in December 2028, guests are expected to arrive at a version of Versant Soleil that looks considerably different from the one operating today. The hotel will join a new beginner area, 62 additional acres of terrain, eight trails and another high-speed chairlift, giving Tremblant substantially more ski infrastructure around what has historically been its quieter base area.
Club Med Tremblant is currently scheduled to open in December 2028.
