Little Cottonwood Canyon — Utah ski resorts are preparing for the 2026-27 season, and they hope for lots of snowfall. The 2025-26 season was one of the worst Utah has ever seen, with minimal snowfall. Still, Little Cottonwood Canyon had its fair share of powder days.

As demonstrated by the following video by Tyler Peterson, there were some highlights from the prior winter. The video mixes POV shots, skiers getting their faces filled with powder, and time-lapses of skiers finding iconic lines on powder days. Even though last winter sucked for Utah, it’s a solid reminder that good days can still happen during a disappointing ski season.

In case you didn’t know, Tyler Peterson is a pro skier who competed in slopestyle and halfpipe. Tyler remains active in the ski sphere, as has an active YouTube page that shows great days in Little Cottonwood Canyon. If you haven’t seen his content, I’d highly recommend it.

It won’t be long now until we see scenes like this again. Alta and Snowbird are both eyeing a November opening, with Alta aiming to open November 20th, and Snowbird aspiring to kick off its season on November 27th. Obviously, this is weather-dependent.
