Japanese snowboarder Kaishu Hirano has officially secured his place in the Guinness World Records after setting the highest snowboard air ever recorded in a halfpipe.

Hirano reached a height of 7.72 meters, or 25 feet, 4 inches, during The Snow League‘s first season. The record-setting backside air came on March 19th, 2026, at the halfpipe in LAAX, Switzerland, during Event Four’s Last Chance Qualifier round.

Hirano Breaks His Own Record

The massive air was not Hirano’s first time reaching record-setting heights in The Snow League. He previously reached 7.68 meters, or 25 feet, 2 inches, at The Snow League event in Aspen Snowmass. His March performance added another four centimeters to that mark and established a new Guinness World Record for the highest snowboard air on a superpipe.

The record was officially recognized during a ceremony in Japan on October 1st. Hirano was presented with a framed Guinness World Records certificate commemorating the achievement.

The record adds another major accomplishment to an already impressive first season for the Japanese snowboarder. Hirano also earned The Snow League’s Jeep Biggest Air Badge at both the Aspen and LAAX events.

Hirano Has Set The Bar High For Season Two

Hirano’s record-setting air in LAAX demonstrates the massive progression and amplitude that The Snow League keeps bringing to competitive halfpipe snowboarding. The Snow League is returning with another season of elite halfpipe competition, with Hirano among the riders expected to draw plenty of attention after his historic first season.
