Eagle Point Resort in Utah has released a new video showing the recovery efforts underway following the devastating Cottonwood Fire.
The resort’s latest update shows dump trucks hauling debris while crews work around the resort’s lift infrastructure. Eagle Point says progress is being made every day as its team continues the long process of recovering from the fire.
Eagle Point previously announced that cleanup at Canyonside Lodge had been completed after the building was completely destroyed by the fire. Crews removed debris and hazardous trees from the area as part of efforts to make the site safe and prepare it for future recovery work.
Lift Repairs Remain A Major Focus
Work is also continuing around Eagle Point’s lift system. The resort says assessments of the damaged lifts are progressing, with several lifts requiring significant repairs and replacement components.
The Monarch Lift emerged from the fire without damage, while the Canyonside Lift and Tushar Peaks surface lift suffered some of the most severe impacts. The Skyline Lift and Lookout Lift also require substantial repair work, including replacement components, engineering assessments, and vegetation clearing. The damage to the affected lifts remains within its insurance coverage, providing a path toward future restoration.
Eagle Point Will Miss The 2026-27 Season
Eagle Point previously announced that it will not operate during the 2026-27 winter season because of the extensive damage caused by the Cottonwood Fire and additional access challenges from road damage.
While there is no confirmed reopening date, the ongoing cleanup represents an important step in the resort’s long-term recovery. The resort has also reported that Rocky Mountain Power completed repairs to the local electrical grid, while the Utah Department of Transportation is targeting the restoration of one-lane access to Eagle Point via State Route 153 this fall.
