With ski season approaching, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is once again giving Colorado residents a chance to prepare for winter with its annual SnowShape Fitness Series.

The eighth season of SnowShape began September 19 and continues through October 10, with workouts held every Saturday morning from 8 to 9 a.m. The series is presented by Toyota in partnership with the fitness team at Denver Parks & Recreation.

The four-week program uses the natural geography of Red Rocks to create workouts focused on strength, endurance and stability. Each session is designed to stand alone, meaning participants can join the series even if they missed an earlier workout.

SnowShape Targets Ski Season Fitness

Each week of SnowShape features a different training theme, providing participants with a varied preseason workout program. Instructors demonstrate three intensity levels for every exercise, allowing participants to adjust the workout based on their fitness level and how they are feeling that day.

The Red Rocks stairs are a central part of the experience, adding a challenging element for anyone looking to improve their conditioning before returning to the slopes.

“You haven’t done a workout until you’ve done it on the Red Rocks stairs. SnowShape is a fun, challenging way for people of all fitness levels to send off summer and step into winter.” – Red Rocks spokesman Brian Kitts.

Pricing and Ski Resort Giveaways

Single-session tickets cost $11.50, while a four-week package costs $44.50. The four-pack includes a single-day lift ticket to Loveland Ski Area, although some restrictions apply.

Individual SnowShape sessions also feature additional giveaways throughout the series. Prizes include season passes courtesy of Winter Park Resort and products from Smartwool.

The remaining sessions are scheduled for September 26th, October 3rd and October 10th. With the first workout already completed, skiers and snowboarders still have three opportunities to take part in the preseason training series before winter arrives.

Tickets and additional information are available at Red Rocks Online.
