Colorado skiers and snowboarders are already looking ahead to the 2026/27 season, with several resorts now publishing their planned opening dates.
The state’s ski season could begin as early as October, although most of Colorado’s major resorts are currently targeting openings in November. Opening dates remain subject to snow conditions and other operational factors, so the schedule could change as winter approaches.
Here are the known 2026/27 opening dates that have been announced directly by Colorado ski resorts or their parent companies.
Colorado Ski Resorts Opening In November
The first confirmed November opening dates currently belong to Breckenridge and Copper Mountain, both targeting November 6th.
Breckenridge Ski Resort and Copper Mountain are both currently advertising early-season operations beginning November 6th.

Colorado Ski Resorts Opening In December
The December calendar currently has four known opening dates.

Ski Cooper describes December 9th as its tentative opening day.

More Opening Dates Are Still To Come
Several major Colorado ski areas have not yet announced specific 2026/27 opening dates. That includes Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Keystone, Winter Park, Wolf Creek, Monarch Mountain, Powderhorn, Purgatory, Sunlight Mountain and others.
Eldora doesn’t have a specific opening date listed on their website, but did post on August 5th saying that they’re 100 days away from opening day.
Vail Resorts plans to open Keystone as soon as possible in October, but no specific day has been announced. Arapahoe Basin and Loveland are likely to participate in the race to be the first open as well.
For now, Breckenridge and Copper Mountain have the earliest specific Colorado opening dates at November 6th, while Keystone, Loveland, or Arapahoe Basin could beat them if conditions allow an October opening.
