Winter may be months aways but the folks at Ontario’s Mount St. Louis Moonstone are already focused on getting snow season started. The Coldwater, Ontario resort recently unboxed its newest snowmaking equipment and they look incredible. The recently received fleet of TechnoAlpin TT10 and TL8 fan guns are part of a $1.6 million investment to replace 60 aging manual snow guns with state-of-the-art automated technology.
“MSLM’s commitment to you for Winter 26/27 always starts in the summer” the resort said in announcing the new guns, reminding their faithful skiers and snowboarders that great early season ski conditions are built months before the first flakes fall. The automated fan guns are designed to make snow more efficiently and consistently, helping MSLM deliver faster early-season coverage and reliable conditions throughout the mountain.
The snowmaking upgrade is just one piece of a larger $5+ million investment MSLM is making this offseason. According to Operations Director Andre Huter, the goal is simple: stay ahead of guest expectations and hold the resort’s position as Ontario’s skiing and snowboarding leader.
Alongside the new snow guns, MSLM is adding a $650,000 Pisten Bully 600 Polar Stage V groomer to keep all 36 runs in signature corduroy shape. A new $750,000 Team Service surface lift will boost uphill capacity by 1,800 people per hour and create a more welcoming progression zone for beginners. Night skiers can look forward to a $350,000 lighting overhaul on Big Lonely, courtesy of Musco Lighting, complete with colored LED fixtures for a fresh visual experience after dark.
Off the slopes, the West Lot parking area is expanding to fit 200+ additional vehicles, and the Rossignol Experience Centre is getting a $700,000 automated tuning machine for sharper rental equipment. An additional $250,000 is going toward renovated food and beverage facilities and a new European-style Beer Hall Biergarten, with menu items like pretzel bites, schnitzel sliders, and apple strudel pizza.
