Snowboarding legend and self-proclaimed “Radical Dude” Danny Kass has a new gig and we are stoked. The 2002 Winter Olympics men’s halfpipe silver medal winner has been formally announced as the new Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team slopestyle and big air head coach for the 2026-27 season:
“As a living legend in the sport, Danny needs no introduction. His unique experience has shaped him to be able to connect with riders in a truly remarkable way. Danny has a deep understanding of what it takes to be the best in the world.” -Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team sport director Rick Bower
The New Jersey native began as the rookie halfpipe coach in 2022 before graduating to the pro halfpipe team head coach the following season. He knows what it takes to be the best and brings a unique perspective on the pressures that come with being a world class competitive rider.
Along with his Olympic and X Games accolades, Danny co-founded Grenade Gloves with his brother Matt in 2001 which was an absolutely monster hit back in the day that shook up the snowboarding industry and helped establish athlete driven brands to counteract corporate snowboarding apparel.
Makes us proud to see a rider who blazed his own trail in early years of competitive snowboarding getting to pass on his wisdom to the next generation. Well done Danny.
