Virginia — While Virginia is known as a state for lovers for some reason, it’s also a state for skiers. There are four active ski resorts in The Mountain State, plus a synthetic slope at Liberty University. The largest ski resort in the state is working on some big snowmaking upgrades this offseason.
Last week, Wintergreen Resort gave an update on its summer projects. For snowmaking, 14 new snowguns are being added to the Eagle’s Nest trail to replace the old ones. The existing snow guns will be moved to other spots on the mountain. Adding these snowguns to the intermediate trail will improve efficiency, resulting in earlier openings and better snow quality.
