EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jeresy — North America’s first and only indoor ski resort suffered a chairlift malfunction last week leaving 25 skiers and snowboarders stuck for around a half hour.

On May 8th the sole chairlift at Big Snow indoor ski resort at American Dream Mall in New Jersey came to halt with 25 customers aboard. The borough’s fire department responded to the scene but their services were not needed as everyone was off-loaded without injury once ski resort staff got it back spinning. Big Snow confirmed the lift stoppage was “temporarily paused for approximately 30 minutes due to a mechanical issue.”

The chairlift was brought back online shortly there after and Big Snow reopened following day. All the guests who were trapped on the chairlift were compensated with complimentary return vouchers for their loss of time.
