Sugar Bowl gondola sale
Sugar Bowl gondola sale

Sugar Bowl Resort in Lake Tahoe, California is liquidating its stock of vintage CWA 4-person gondola cabins and price is pretty wild.

Generally when ski resorts sell off their old chairlifts they are put up for auction where bids hover around $1,000-$2000. Sugar Bowl knows what they have to offer is mighty special and have forgone bidding with a set price of $10,000 per cabin. Originally installed in 1982, these cabins were built for durability and designed with classic alpine character and if you can shell out five figures, one could be yours:

“Sugar Bowl is offering a limited release of our now decommissioned gondola cabins—an iconic part of the mountain experience since 1982. The response from our community has been incredible, and we’re excited to extend this opportunity more broadly.

Proceeds from each cabin sold will go directly back into the resort, supporting the continued renovation of the Village Lodge. This includes extending the aesthetic of the beautifully remodeled Rathskeller throughout the lower level and introducing a new retail space for snacks and souvenirs—ready for next ski season.

It’s a rare opportunity to take home a piece of Sugar Bowl’s history while contributing to its future. We love the idea that these cabins will continue their story in new and unexpected ways.”

If any cabins remain following the initial $10k offering, Sugar Bowl will be release them through an auction process, with final units sold to the highest bidders on the waitlist. Whether you choose to purchase now or join the list, this is an incredibly unique chance to own a piece of Sugar Bowl history. To purchase or join the list GO HERE.
