Rejoice Utah skiers and snowboarders, Brian Head Resort is adding an extra day to its closing weekend and lift tickets will be sold for just $1. extending its 2025–26 ski season with a bonus day of skiing and riding on Friday, May 1.

Originally Brian Head planned on opening up just for Saturday and Sunday but they added a bonus day with with 12 trails to enjoy served by Giant Steps Express and the new Giant Steps conveyor lift.

“We are grateful for the hard work of the Brian Head team that enabled us to launch May skiing in Utah. And we’re excited to enable skiing for all by offering $1 lift tickets.” –Tom Pettigrew, Brian Head Resort GM

Thanks to Brian Head Resort’s high elevation base (the highest in Utah at 9,600-foot), the resort has been able to preserve late-season coverage and outlast many of their fellow Beehive State ski resorts. The resort also received 3 inches of snow this week and colder temperatures allowed the snowmaking crews fire up the snowguns and provide additional manmade coverage at Giant Steps ahead of closing weekend.

“One more day to the season? We think so. We are officially hosting a bonus day this Friday, May 1, with $1 lift tickets for everyone. Being at the highest base elevation in Utah has its perks—the coverage is still great and the vibes are even better. We’ve made snow twice this week and had an additional 3” of freshies! Come for the $1 skiing on Friday, stay for the costumes, raffles on Saturday, donuts on Sunday. Let’s celebrate 160 days of winter together!”
