British Columbia, Canada — Crafty use of a boogie board by these intrepid ski tourers who managed to hump an entire beer keg to a backcountry hut for a spring ski trip.

The crew started out at Wheeler Hut, one of the most historic and accessible huts in the Alpine Club of Canada hut network, and then headed up to the Asulkan Cabin, a beautiful panabode style building which sleeps 10 and is perfectly situated for skiing in the Asulkan Valley.

Apparently these folks ain’t rookies and weren’t about to swig swill on their backcountry adventure after all that hard work. Looks like they picked up a keg from BC craft beer purveyor Crannóg Ales founded by Brian MacIsaac and Rebecca Kneen who have a passion for organic ingredients and traditional Irish brewing.

“Hell of a journey, team. Big thanks to an excellent hut trip with the Big White patrol gang.”

While we don’t encourage drinking while skiing, chilling out with your beverage of choice after a long day on the hill, especially when you’re earning your turns on a ski tour, is a time honored tradition and one of most satisfying situations one can themselves in. Cheers!
