Back on Wednesday, April 1st, State Troopers in New Jersey from Troop “B” Perryville Station responded to a more unusual call. They were called to I-78 East at milepost 12.2 in union Township, where a lone bear cub had been spotted in a roadside ditch.
Upon the troopers’ arrival, it was clear that the small lone cub was in need of assistance. He was safely secured, transported back to the barracks, and eventually released to the Department of Environmental Protection for proper care.
Body cam footage from the rescue was later released to local news sites, showing the bear’s less-than-enthusiastic reaction to being assited.
Shoutout to the troopers for their swift and caring response for this adorable animal.
