Tragic news from Vail Mountain where officials have confirmed the death of a 43-year-old man from Chile after an accident on the slopes.

According to a report from Vail Daily, the accident occurred in the Big Rock Park area of Blue Sky Basin on Saturday, February 28th. Ski patrol responded to the incident, transporting the man to Vail Health Hospital before he was flown to Denver Health Hospital.

The man was pronounced deceased at DenverHealth Hospital after further emergency care and evaluation.
