Chamonix, France — Disturbing footage from the slopes of Station La Flégère in Chamonix, France where someone was taken a video when an inbounds avalanche was triggered and spilled across an active slope.

Reports on the ground are that three skiers were caught in the slide, two of which can be seen in the video getting sideswiped by the rushing snow while crossing a cat-track. Thankfully all of the victims were survived after ski patrol launched a massive search operation.

The incident happened around noon today and the slide originated on the slopes overlooking the top of the Floria ski lift. The 100-meter wide slab swept across two runs. The three victims were buried up to their necks in snow. This is an emerging story and we will be sure to update as more information becomes available.
