If you’ve ever wondered where you can click in and just keep skiing, these are the longest lift-served ski runs in North America ranked purely by total trail mileage. These are the leg-burning, top-to-bottom descents that seem to go on forever, the kind of runs that make you question whether you should’ve stopped for water halfway down.
These are the longest runs based on total trail mileage, not vertical drop. While there are certainly ways you can meander down a mountain, switching trails and directions to make an enormous run, these are the continuous, single named routes (though we are counting trails that feature an “upper” and “lower” section).
1. Last Spike – Revelstoke Mountain Resort, British Columbia
Length: ~9.4 miles (15.2 km)
Revelstoke claims the crown for North America with Last Spike, running from the top of the resort all the way to the base. It is the longest lift-served ski run in North America by quite a bit, offering a full top-to-bottom experience that combines high alpine terrain, sustained fall line skiing and a serious quad burn by the time you reach the bottom.
2. Peak to Creek – Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia
Length: ~6.8 miles (11 km)
One of the most famous descents on the continent, Peak to Creek drops from the summit of Whistler Mountain all the way to Creekside Village. It’s fast and flowing, taking you from 7,160 feet to 2,140 feet.
3. Olympic Downhill – Heavenly, California
Length: ~5.5 miles (8.85km)
Running from the top of Olympic Express, the Olympic Downhill is a great place to shred some carves and turns on a consistently medium-steep pitch to the base of Stagecoach Express. The run takes you down nearly 2,000 vertical feet, leaving you ready for another.
4. 5 Mile – Sun Peak Resort, British Columbia
Length: 5 miles (8km)
Running from 6,867 feet to 4,117 feet, 5 Mile lives up to its length, taking skiers and snowboarders from the top of the West Bowl Express to the Village Day Lodge. It’s a green run the entire way down, allowing for some peaceful carving while taking advantage of the long route.
5. Green Monster – Deer Valley, Utah
Length: 4.8 miles (7.7km)
Deer Valley’s Green Monster is, as the name implies, a green monster, running from the top of the new East Village Gondola at the summit of Park Peak at 9,350 feet, to the new East Village at 6,350 feet. It stays green the whole way, and with Deer Valley’s legendary grooming, you know it’s a great one.
