Schlashmans Lift
Schlashmans Lift

Schlashmans lift at Bridger Bowl services steep, avalanche prone terrain and all riders need a working beacon before getting on the lift. Where you might traditionally see gates that let you onto the lift, at Schlasmans there are two receivers hanging that must successfully beep your beacon before you get on the lift.

The lift itself is a two person chair that serves both under the lift skiing but also provides access to the ridgeline, which requires a beacon to ski as well. Bridger Bowl is a hidden gem in Montana, with plenty of skiing off the lifts and steep ridge access that can be reached through steep bootpacks. Montana State students find themselves at Bridger Bowl all days of the week and dream of deep days on the ridge.

Skiing Schlashmans

Schlashmans itself is a highlight of Bridger Bowl and a unique aspect to resort skiing. Cliffs and other natural features can be found on every run off this lift, but you can certainly get down the run without leaving the ground. Skiing here provides a sense of achievement with each hike but also effortless steep skiing from the lift. There are rarely lines here as the beacon requirement restricts people from getting there. This is the perfect place for adventurous skiers looking to feel the backcountry on the resort.
