Government Camp, Oregon โ€” The latest sign of Oregon’s bleak winter is coming from one of the ski resorts at Mount Hood.

Yesterday, Mt. Hood Skibowl announced that tonight will be its final downhill skiing operations for the foreseeable future. After that, skiing will be shut down due to a lack of snow. Prior to this announcement, Skibowl had been operating its lifts only in the evening due to a warmer-than-average winter.

While skiing is done for now, the Skibowl won’t be a ghost town, as snow tubing remains open at the Skibowl. Cosmic tubing will be happening Thursday-Sunday nights, with day tubing on Saturday and Sunday.

About Mt. Hood Ski Bowl

Mt Hood Ski Bowl features 71 trails and 10 lifts across over 960 skiable acres. The ski resort features a vertical drop of 1,500 feet. Other activities include snow tubing, snowmobiling, snowsheoing and cross-country skiing. The Oregon ski resort is home to the most night skiing in North America, with 37 trails lit up.

The Skibowl remains busy in the summer, with activities like alpine slides, summer tubing, hiking trails, and go-karts.
