Back before there was an entire wall of snowboard boots to pick and choose from at your local ski shop, old timer snowboarders just wore regular old off the shelf snowboots as sport specific footwear was pretty much non-existent.
More often than not the boot of preference was Sorel, specifically the classic Sorel Caribou, as it provided a warmth, waterproofness, and that bit of cushion going up the calf as you wrenched down on those old school highback bindings. While the snowboard boot technology has obviously evolved over the years, there is something charming about how those old Sorels looked out on the mountain.

The Caribou Snow-G is set to debut for winter 2026/27 so can expect to see the iconic design on the hill next season.
