Newry, Maine — While speeding on cat-tracks can be fun, all it takes is one tip to catch to become a nasty crash.
This is demonstrated in this video by Juan Diego Gomez (@pov_samurai). What starts as a tranquil yet speedy trip on the Kansas trail at Sunday River Resort turns into a full-on yard sale. He slides onto what looks like a closed-down trail, and then nearly becomes the victim of a snow boulder.
Unfortunately, the skier blew the opportunity to say “We’re not in Kansas anymore” after he crashed.
I’d say the key takeaway here is to watch your speed on easy trails like this, as merging points can make you feel uneasy and catch an edge.
Currently, Sunday River has 127 trails and 13 lifts open. This includes Kansas, if you wish to retrace his steps.
