TELLURIDE, Colorado – A private plane skidded about 300 yards off the runaway at Telluride Regional Airport as it was landing on Tuesday, January 13th.

According to the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office, the plane, which was a Cessna Citation X, was landing at approximately 12:15pm when it skidded off the runway. The pilot informed deputies that a strong, gusting-crosswind hit the plane right after its wheels touched down. It eventually came to a rest on collapsed landing gear, though there was no fire or smoke.

Three occupants were on board, including two pilots and one passenger, at the time of the crash. All occupants were able to exit on their own without injury. Damage to the plane included its left wing and nose wheel.

The NTSB and FAA will be further running the investigation.
