Getting on and off the chairlift as a beginner snowboarder is not an easy task. I’m not a snowboarder but I’ve given it a shot for a few days, and the chairlift is easily the scariest part. That’s why this chairlift at Baqueira Beret in Spain might just be the friendliest out there for beginner snowboarders.
Of course a gondola is probably a bit easier than this, you just get in the cabin with your board or place it in the slot on the outside, easy as that, but not every lift can be a gondola. This chairlift features the same snowboard holders as a gondola, allowing riders to simply walk on and off the lift without worrying about their board.
Presumably the lift moves pretty slow so there’s no rush to grab your gear as you get off. Removing the board from the occasion is nicer on the knees and less stressful, especially for those who are brand new to the sport.
