Tragic news out of Keystone, Colorado, where a skier has died after an accident at Keystone Resort.
According to the Summit County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the mountain after receiving a report at approximately 12:20pm on Wednesday, January 7th. An unresponsive male skier visiting from Colorado’s Front Range was found by other guests on The Grizz, a run in Keystone’s Outback area.
The other guests immediately began CPR and called for help, with Keystone Ski Patrol responding to the scene and providing advanced life-saving measures before the skier was brought to a nearby helicopter landing zone. The skier was then taken to CommonSpirit St. Anthony Summit Hospital by Flight for Life where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation into the death is currently ongoing and no further details are available. The identity of the deceased will be released at a later time. The victim was wearing a helmet when he was found.
