Boston, Massachusetts โ€” A Facebook Marketplace find resulted in a wicked discovery for the Boston Police Department.

Recently, a thief stole an individual’s skis. That individual filed a theft report with the Boston Police Department, and their investigation began. Eventually, the vandal posted the skis on Facebook Marketplace. Authorities discovered this and pretended to be interested in buying them. At the meet-up, the Police Department arrested him. The skis were returned to their rightful owner.

The individual has been identified as Tyrone Snead of Dorchester. During the investigation, it was discovered that the individual had a warrant out for his arrest for possession of a Class B substance. He added to his charges with this situation, as he’s also been charged with Receiving Stolen Property over $1,200.

As part of this announcement, the Police Department shared that they have safe zones for people to exchange items for sale on websites such as Facebook Marketplace. It goes to show that you should be cautious with online sales, as they could be coming from someone who doesn’t actually own them.
