A Mammoth Lakes, California snowboarder just scored a picture perfect line down one the area’s most secretive sidecountry lines as he slashed picture perfect powder turns through “Hole in the Wall.”

While we won’t give away the location of this natural arch, we can tell you it is the remnants of an ancient lava tube and a geological oddity that has attracted curious skiers and snowboarder (hikers in the summer) for many many years. Depending on the snow conditions riding through this lava tube requires a mandatory air over rocks to enter should only be attempted by experts.

Anyone considering accessing “Hole in the Wall” needs to be well aware of avalanche dangers and plan accordingly.
