Telluride, Colorado — The situation at Telluride Ski Resort somehow got more bizarre today.

Following the announcement that the Telluride Ski Patrol plans to go on strike on Saturday, the ski resort said it won’t be open on December 27th. The timeline for how long this closure will last is uncertain.

Telluride is arguing that its proposal is reasonable and on par with other notable Western ski resorts. You can view Telluride’s side of the story here.

The Telluride Ski Patrol has issued no further official statements since announcing its strike, as it remains steadfast in its goal of better compensation. However, they did share today that Silverton Mountain is now planning to give 25% of its proceeds to the ski patrol.

They argue that this challenging mountain requires significant experience, and it’s situated in one of the most expensive ski towns in the country. You can support the ski patrol’s efforts here.
