More sad news for Utah skiers and snowboarders, Snowbird has joined the still growing list of ski areas who’ve pushed back their opening day, moving it back from November 27th to the first week of December.

Snowbird’s teams have been hard at work trying to get things ready for the season, but the temperatures and weather just haven’t cooperated. At this point, the mountain still needs more natural snow and colder temperatures in order to open.

Snowbird usually gets more than 500 inches of snow in a season on average, but this winter has started off slow. So far, they’ve only seen 19 inches of snow, 10 of which came in the past 7 days.
