Coming off a frigid and snowy week, including snowmaking operations beginning November 1st, New York’s Whiteface Mountain ski resort is set open on Saturday, November 15th. Whiteface will be the first ski resort to operate in New York for the 2025-2026 ski season.
“The snow checks out, we’re opening this weekend! After 18 inches of fresh snow and round-the-clock snowmaking—opening day is here! Grab your gear, gather your crew, and kick off the season with us starting Saturday, November 15th.” -Whiteface Mountain

Whiteface Mountain will be operate over the weekend but will close for most of next week, reopening Friday, November 21st for pass holders only.
Current projected schedule following opening weekend:
- Closed Monday, 11/17 – Thursday, 11/20.
- Open Friday, 11/21 for Season Passholders only.
- Open Saturday, 11/22 & Sunday, 11/23.
- Closed Monday, 11/24 – Thursday, 11/27.
- Open Friday, 11/28 for daily operations.
On Saturday and Sunday only intermediate and advanced terrain will be available for skiing off the Summit Chairlift only. Same as last year’s opening day, skiers will be required to download back to the Main Base Area from the Summit Chair on the Face Lift.
“The Face Lift and Summit Quad will open at 10:00 am Saturday and Sunday. The Face Lift will close for uploading traffic at 3:00pm, and the Summit Quad will close at 3:30pm. Riva Ridge, Paron’s Run, The Follies, Excelsior, Ilmar’s Alley, Lower Northway, and Summit Express are anticipated to be groomed and open.” -Whiteface Mountain
Season Passholder Appreciation Day Details (Friday, November 21st):
Season Passholder Appreciation Day is on Friday, November 21st. In addition to having the mountain all to themselves all day long, passholders will have free light bites, 2-1 drinks, additional discounts on retail, and a “Meet The Team” event in the Cloudspin Bar & Grill from 2-4pm.
