A homeowner in Roxborough Park, Colorado, just southwest of Denver, received quite a surprise around 12:30am on November 9th when two battling bucks fell into their basement window well and smashed through the glass into the home gym below.
The clearly shocked homeowner contacted Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), who sent to officers and called in West Metro Fire Rescue Company 15. Two CPW officers arrived on scene with a tranquilizer, putting the two uninvited guests to sleep.

Once the bucks were peacefully sleeping, the West Metro firefighters used a MegaMover, which is basically a giant tarp stretcher, to remove the two animals from the basement gym. They were safely and carefully brought outside.

Before they awoke, the two CPW officers tagged the deer. Once they woke up, they were released into the night. While there was very little this homeowner could have done to prevent such an unexpected occurrence, this incident should act as a reminder that deer are wild animals and could be dangerous if they feel threatened. Always give wild animals plenty of space.
