Maine’s ski areas often go overlooked, but the state is home to quite a lot of fantastic mountains both big and small. I’m certainly biased on the topic, but all of Maine’s resorts have a lot of charm, whether big or small. Maine’s largest ski resort, Sugarloaf, is getting ready to celebrate their 75th season, a big milestone at this fantastic mountain.
Right now, opening day is set for November 21st, 2025, with the SuperQuad Chairlift spinning starting at 7:30am. To celebrate the start of their 75th season, the first 75 people in line will receive a collectable 75th buff.
That’s not the only way the mountain is celebrating 75 years, either. On Saturday, December 6th, a 75th Anniversary Kickoff Party will be hosted at Widowmaker, though further details on that are yet to be announced. Starting on Tuesday, February 3, skiers and snowboarders who reach 75 days on the mountain will receive a special 75th anniversary pin.
Finally, on Saturday, March 7th, the resort is hosting a 75th anniversary gala in the King Pine Room. Further details are yet to be announced. Lift tickets for opening day are currently available on the Sugarloaf website.
