Matt Sterbenz founded the brand back in 2002, hoping to create a skier-driven design while working toward his own dreams of skiing.

From starting a ski brand in his garage in Lake Tahoe to Olympic Podiums, it’s been a wild ride for Matt Sterbenz. In this documentary, he chronicles his humble beginnings of the brand to his return in 2025. One thing remains unchanged – 4FRNT has been, and still is by skiers, for skiers.

Sterbenz left 4FRNT in 2017 hoping to pursue a life in biotech, but it was recently announced that he’d be returning to the company with a goal of bringing modern tweaks to his namesake ski, the MSP. You can read more about his return here.
