If you have ever lived in a ski town, you have probably fielded more than few questions from tourists that leave you scratching your chin. The one I love the most and have heard multiple times is if the resort runs the chairlift backwards at the end of the day to bring the skier back down. Amazing on several levels.

Another common inquiry from the uninitiated is the source of all those bumps on the hill “Who installs the moguls and where do they go in the summer.” The Town of Snowmass Village Parks decided to poke a little fun at the expense of flat landers and issued the following social media post leading up to the kickoff of the ski season:

“Town of Snowmass Village Parks, Recreation & Trails crews are up on the mountain installing this season’s moguls. In a little-known partnership with Aspen Snowmass, the Town owns and installs the moguls in the Snowmass Ski Area.”

We don’t want to step on their joke but mogul installation may or may not have been on the docket this past week for the workers at Snowmass Parks & Rec. Make sure to share this around with anyone who currently lives or used to live in a ski town for a guaranteed giggle. Well played Snowmass!
