Lindsey Vonn coming off a speaking engagement in New York City at the 59th Annual U.S. Ski & Snowboard Gold Medal Gala and she made the most of her stint in the Big Apple by popping into Studio 6B at 30 Rockefeller Plaza to chat about her historic comeback and the upcoming competition season with Jimmy Fallon.
The pair covered a wide range of topics in the short segment including Jimmy’s stiff ski style and needing to improve his hip movement, Lindsey’s laundry list of surgeries and her brand new titanium knee and all the challenges of bidding for her fifth Olympics at 41 years old.
Lindsey only breezed over the importance of her donning the cover of Time magazine but she issued a full statement on social media which can be read below:
MOM, IโM ON THE COVER OF TIME MAGAZINE!!!
As my eyes fill with tears (not ideal while doing intervals on the bike), I canโt quite put into words what this means to me.ย TIMEย was always one of my momโs favorite magazines. I can still see her in bed in Minnesota, reading each issue intentlyโice cream in hand. I know she would be proud.
I never could have imagined, even in my wildest dreams, that my life would lead me here. Iโm just a girl from Minnesota who wanted to ski fast. But this cover means Iโve done a lot more in my life than just ski fast. People might not know what Iโve done on the mountain, but they know that no matter how many times I fall, I will always pick myself back up, and I hope it inspires others to do the same!
At 41, Iโm still chasing dreams, still pushing limits, still believing in whatโs possible. My hope is that anyone reading this remembers: never give up on yourself. Never stop dreaming.
No matter what happens next, Iโve already wonโbecause Iโve followed my heart, my passion, and my purpose.

Can’t wait to see Lindsey battling to achieved her stated goal of the season, to represent USA at theย 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympic Gamesย where she hopes to compete in the downhill event. Vonn has expressed that if she races in Italy it will be her final competitive event and plans to retire again permanently after the games (with the caveat that if sheโs in contention for a World Cup title she may extend). Thoroughly pumped up to watch an American alpine legend on her final Olympic journey. Lets Go Lindsey!!!
