Flavor Flav is best known as the cofounder of the seminal 1980s hip-hop group Public Enemy and for his starring role in the 2008 VH1 reality show “Flavor of Love” and it’s subsequent spin-offs but he has recently made his way back into the public eye as the official hype man for the USA women’s water polo team at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Ever the showman, Flavor Flav is back for an encore performance in his role of Olympic hype man, this time it will be with the USA Bobsled + Skeleton Team at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. To seal the deal, Flav jumped on a skeleton sled and sent it down the track at the Olympic Training Center in Utah, breaking 66mph in the process. Mind you Flav might come off as young but he was born in 1959 making him 66-years-old, same as his skeleton speed… impressive, right?
“I might’ve also joined the team as a member and went Bobsledding and Skeletoning.” -Flavor Flav
“COOLEST RUNNINGS cuz it’s Cooler than Cool Runnings. Flavor Flav is an official sponsor and The Official Hype Man of the USA Olympic Bobsled + Skeleton Team.” -USABS
Incredible to see Flav get a third act as a sports personality and to see one of the most under appreciated winter sports get some additional coverage. Also nice to know they will have alternate on the skeleton team if need be.
By the way, the video from the official USA Bobsled and Skeleton Team doesn’t include Flav banging his face off an ice wall doing over 60mph. This one does. Yikes:
