“The time when we are most comfortable, doing the best work is when most people are the least comfortable. It’s kinda where we thrive when it’s the coldest and the crapiest outside. That’s when we get down.” –Snowmass Snowmaker, Parker
Hats off to the all unsung heroes of the ski industry that blow snow. They aren’t as visible as other resort employees as their work begins well before guests arrive for the season opener but the fruits of the labors become front and center when skiers and snowboarders show up for opening day. Appreciating their efforts is especially timely right now as resorts across the nation try to get a jump start on Mother Nature and make as much snow as possible when the mercury dips to open up as early as possible. Enjoy this video highlighting the incredible work of the snowmaking team at Snowmass.
“All of us snowmakers are connected in some certain way. We’ve all suffered the pains and agonies and we’ve all lived the triumphs.”
Snowmass has a scheduled opening day of November 27, 2025 and we have no doubt the snowmaking team is putting in extra hours to make sure they hit that mark. Best wishes to those folks as they settle into a 31 day sprint to blanket the mountain.
